Imaging at the Heart Center

The professorship and section for cardiothoracic imaging within the Clinic for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology (LINK) is responsible for the examination of diseases of the cardiovascular system within the University Heart Center and manages the radiology department at the Bad-Krozingen Campus.

With our experts, we offer the entire spectrum of cardio-vascular examinations with state-of-the-art, non-invasive equipment at the Bad Krozingen Campus for outpatients and inpatients, irrespective of their status.

Common reasons why patients make appointments with us include:

Clarification of coronary heart disease (CHD) with non-invasive CT
Vascular imaging of the entire body with CT and/or MRI
Cardio/cardiac MRI in cases of suspected myocarditis (e.g., after COVID) or unclear functional disorders
Stress MRI of the heart in cases of suspected circulatory disorders (e.g., due to CHD).
In addition to the cardiovascular imaging focus, the entire spectrum of CT and MRI imaging is offered identical to the Radiology Department of the University Hospital at the Freiburg Campus (LINK).

In cooperation with the Rhythmology Department of the University Heart Center (LINK), the full spectrum of MRI examinations is offered to patients who have received an MRI-enabled pacemaker or other cardiac electronic implant device (CEID).

The Bad Krozingen Campus and the Freiburg Campus have a shared IT infrastructure and image and findings archive; for external use, images can be made available on CD or via QR code link.
