Cardiac Mechano-Electric Coupling and Arrythmias

It is a great pleasure to invite you to the 9th International Workshop on Cardiac Mechano-Electric Coupling and Arrhythmias.

The Workshop will be hosted by the Institute for Experimental Cardiovascular Medicine at Freiburg.

We are delighted to have Leslie Leinwand, University of Colorado, and Michael Sheetz, University of Texas, as our two opening lecturers on Wednesday, 21 September 2022. This will be followed by three days of great science, including nearly 30 lectures that will highlight new developments, with focus on the rapidly improving understanding of molecular mechanisms, and their integration at cell, tissue and organ levels, and the latest clinical observations. Major technical developments will be presented, including time-resolved 3D electron microscopy, super-resolution structure-function mapping in contracting cardiac muscle, and novel high throughput single cell mechanics measurements (see programme here).

Posters, on display in the coffee area throughout the meeting, will be a focal point of the workshop, featured in a dedicated poster session with reception. As usual, we are working hard to match the quality of science with a suitably invigorating social programme. Please note that the workshop will be limited to 100 research-active attendees from academia and industry – so please apply early to avoid disappointment (registration portal will open in spring 2022). Preference will be given to authors of submitted abstracts.

We are looking forward to an instructive, thought-provoking, and interactive meeting. With the best wishes, on behalf of the Organising Committee, for an enjoyable stay in beautiful Freiburg,

Peter Kohl
