Institute for Experimental Cardiovascular Medicine

New Openings

The newly established German Collaborative Research Centre (SFB1425) is recruiting multiple PhD students and Post-docs. More information is available here or directly on our SFB1425 website.

The new Institute for Experimental Cardiovascular Medicine, directed by Prof Peter Kohl, forms one of five structural units comprising the University Heart Centre (UHZ) of the Medical CentreUniversity of Freiburg. The institute, a hub of interdisciplinary collaboration and translational research, is based at a newly-built research block, with modern research infrastructure and state-of-the-art laboratories. To facilitate interactions with theoretical, technical, biological and medical research, it is built on columns of technical expertise, rather than structured to target a specific level or topic of investigation.

We are keen to talk to students from diverse backgrounds (Engineering, Computing, Biology, Medicine) who are interested in pursuing BSc or MSc research in a dynamic and supportive environment, tackling clinically relevant questions in a highly interdisciplinary setting (more).

Research at the institute is supported by the University Medical School, the UHZ, grants from the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts, Baden-Württemberg, the DFG and the European Research Council (ERC).
